  11. Orientation Day: Princes Hill Secondary College (Student Post)

    PMpTue, 11 Dec 2012 19:48:04 -040048Tuesday 14, 2009 by Grade56neighbourhood blog

Yesterday, Betty and I went to our Orientation day at Princes Secondary College. In the morning we were told what form we would be in for next year. Emma and I are in the same form next year. We only have 27 children going to the same high school as us and the rest are from other schools.

After we got told which form we are in, we had the locker discussion. The high school lockers have these really tricky combinations. Most people had trouble, but after the teachers helped us and showed us how to do it, some kids started to get it a bit more. During the day, we did photography, Italian, science, English and homeroom. In science we did 5 experiments. In English we had to write a story and share it. In photography, we used photo booth and made oil paint pictures on the macs. In Italian, we learnt a lot about Italy and the cities in it. Other classes had other subjects like ceramics, drama, music and more. At lunch time we had a sausage sizzle and a drink.

The day was really good and we enjoyed it a lot.

  12. Orientation Day: University High School (Student Post)

    PMpTue, 11 Dec 2012 19:35:52 -040035Tuesday 14, 2009 by Grade56neighbourhood blog

On the 11th of December Poppy and I went to our Orientation Day at University High School.

We started the day off by meeting all the year 7s for 2013 in a hall and we got to see a video on the transition into University High School.

Then we got into our home groups and met our year 7s that we would spend the next couple of years with.
Everyone was nervous at first but once we got to know each other it was fun. We made friends with a girl called Karen and she was also nice. The whole class was very friendly and we all played games and got along. We were accompanied by a group of year 9 students they were very funny.

At lunch we all got a sausage, juice box and an Icy Pole and meet more year 7’s. It was awesome (we could also get seconds).

The School was a very big one and it was very easy to get lost. Once we got the hang of were things were we were all trying to get lost on purpose.

Overall the day was an awesome one. YAY J J J

  15. Our Visit to Princes Hill Secondary College (Student Post)

    PMpThu, 23 Aug 2012 19:59:13 -040059Thursday 14, 2009 by Grade56neighbourhood blog

On Thursday the 23rd, the grade 6s went to Princes Hill Secondary College. We all had a great time on the tour and saw most of the secondary classes. We had a sport class with Bayden & Bernie. They are great sport teachers. We played soft hockey, soccer & war ball. Most people in our class liked war ball the best because it was basically dodge ball and everyone was involved. Soft hockey was fun but some children were kind of confused at the start. After sport we had recess. The school provided us with apples & oranges. They were very tasty. We saw most grade 6’s from last year, Most people said, “Hello” and we had great conversations.
